It’s a small Familiar Hotel, part of a Farm House with several generations, located very close to the village of Grândola, on the first hills of the Sierra with the same name as the village.
We host our guests in 6 rooms and 4 suites on traditional buildings; we have a large living room with a fireplace, a spacious porch that delights everyone at breakfast, a wide garden and a swimming pool. The idea of taking advantage of the existing houses in the Herdade to build an Hotel came up in 2006, giving meaning to the recovery of the farm. The constructions began and after three years of hard work and a lot of care to ensure the maintenance of the traditional architecture, everything was prepared and we opened our doors to the public in March 2009.
About us, we are a couple. Elsa, a Portuguese teacher, Luís, a farmer, both without any hotel management experience, but with a huge will to take over this challenge. To host and to get to know pleasant and interesting people is for us a pleasure. Besides the own features of the Hotel, its small dimension, its comfort and our hosting, its position on the magnificent “Serra de Grândola”, the proximity to the best beaches in the area, Comporta, Carvalhal, Pego, Aberta Nova and Melides, and, on the other hand, the short distance that separates us from Lisbon, 100km/1hour, makes possible a short weekend escape or a longer stay.
